About

Hi, I'm Rachael Floyd. I like to write about myself in the third person.

Rachael is a writer, reader, and baby whisperer. She enjoys collecting fabric, avoiding vacuuming, browsing air-conditioned libraries, and judging poorly made cakes.

She and her long-suffering husband Benton live in a 1980s-era money- pit in south Mississippi with their son Joshua, a toothless old lady dog, and what some people describe as “too many cats.” The Floyds are alumni of Mississippi State University, proprietors of a small-but-mighty local library, and members of a lovely presbyterian church (PCA). They own Lamppost Counseling Center where Rachael supports Ben supporting other people.

Rachael cohosts bookish podcast Keep It Classic with her bestie Amanda Farris. Still chasing the high of a Scholastic Book Fair, she’s found the next best way to boost her serotonin— Goodreads reviews.
